📝 Donation Details

Once you find your nonprofit or fundraiser of choice, click “Donate” and follow the payment check out instructions.

Payment Options

You can use your Deed Credit balance, credit card, or PayPal account if applicable. Local payment options may also be available.

• When donating, there is a varying donation limit per donation depending on the processing partner.
  • For donations through our payment processor GlobalGiving, the minimum is $10 and the maximum is $5,000.
  • For donations through our payment processor PayPal Giving Fund (Including PayPal direct), the minimum is $5 and the maximum is $200,000.

After your donation is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation to your email, and you can find your donation history in your Profile at any time.

Recurring Donations

When donating directly to a nonprofit, you'll see the option to give once or give monthly. Recurring donations are available when you’re paying with a credit card.

• The recurring payment date will be determined by the date the recurring date was initiated. (e.g. a recurring payment initiated on the 15th, will be completed on the 15th of every subsequent month).

*This is only eligible for PayPal Giving Fund nonprofits, so if you don't see that option, that means they're not available through our payment processing partner PPGF. PPGF countries are United States, Canada, Ireland, UK, and Australia.

• You'll fill out the rest of your donation information as usual, and will receive a confirmation and receipt. Moving forward, you'll get a receipt each month when the donation is processed.
• You can manage your recurring deeds at any time in your Profile > My Donations > Recurring. There, you can see info about your recurring donation and also cancel it if needed.

☝️ Pro tip: if you leave your company, please cancel any outstanding recurring donations you have set up!

Matching Donations

Some companies have matching policies and will match donations to nonprofits or fundraisers. If a nonprofit or fundraiser is eligible for matching, you'll see that indicated on the donation page. If you have questions about your matching policy, please reach out to your Social Impact team.

When nonprofits receive your donation(s)

It’s important to the Deed team that donations make it to the designated nonprofit in a timely and efficient manner. We work closely with our payment processing partners to ensure this is the case.

• Employee donations are donations made by the employee with their own money (via credit card, PayPal, etc.)
• We leverage our payment processing partners' APIs to process these donations in real time.

Timeline

• Donations made through PayPal Giving Fund and GlobalGiving are generally disbursed during the last week of the month that the donation was made (usually around the 25th). If the donation is made on or before the 14th of the month, it will be disbursed that month. If the donation is made on or after the 15th of the month, it will be disbursed the following month. Examples are below!
  • An employee makes a donation on March 10th, those funds will be disbursed to the nonprofit on or around March 25th.
  • An employee makes a donation on March 20th, those funds will be disbursed to the nonprofit on or around April 25th.
• For nonprofits unenrolled with PayPal Giving Fund, nonprofits will receive the payment via check within 90 days of processing. The funds are typically disbursed around the 25th of the month. 
• For donations through PayPal Direct, they are disbursed immediately to the nonprofit. The nonprofit determines how to receive those funds (sweep into bank account or hold in PayPal account. More info here).

How to track your donation

• Donations made to PayPal nonprofits are easily trackable through PayPal’s donation tracker. In your employee Profile > Donations > individual donation, you’ll see the Reference number of the donation and can easily search for it through the tracker. We also provide a direct link to that tracker.

• For GlobalGiving disbursements, you’ll also receive a reference number and can reach out to support@joindeed.com for additional info as needed!

Matches

• Donation match tracking links for PayPal nonprofits can also be found in your profile, under "Match Tracker."
