A Volunteer Event is hands-on volunteering (in person or virtual) that is time-boxed on a specific date.
How to sign up:
- When you see an Event that interests you, simply select that deed and click âIâm Ready To Volunteer.â Youâll receive a confirmation email and a reminder email as the Event gets closer. The Event organizer might also reach out directly with pertinent information.
âď¸ Pro tip: If the Event is full, join the waitlist to get notified when a spot opens up!
- When you arrive at your Event, open your Deed app and youâll automatically be prompted to check-in. This is enabled by our geo check-in feature, so make sure youâre physically at the event!
- Geo check-in automatically pops up once youâre in close proximity to the Event address.
- Event organizers and company Admin can also check you in on their Impact Management Platform, so just let them know if you forget to check-in!
âď¸ If you can't make your Event, please try to cancel 24 hours before the Event! It is important for nonprofit organizers to understand who will be attending â and allows other volunteers to participate!
Make your own event
If your company supports this feature, you'll see the option to Create a Deed on the dropdown menu in the top righthand corner of your homepage. You'll be asked to enter important information â nonprofit, volunteers needed, description, etc. â and then depending on your company's configuration, your Event will be submitted for review or published to the platform. If submitted for review, you'll be notified when an Admin approves it.
Calendar invites
You can add a Volunteer Event or an Event to your calendar both on the platform and through the confirmation email that you will receive. Please see visuals below!
Select Google option above (on the deed) and Google Calendar opens with a link to the Zoom.

Projects
A Project is ongoing, and where you can volunteer your skills, expertise, or pro bono services virtually or in person. Youâll work together with the nonprofit to meet milestones theyâve laid out.
How to sign up:

- If youâre chosen for the Project, youâll coordinate with the organizer to work through the designated Milestones.
When you see a Project that interests you, simply select that deed and click âApply.â Once you apply, youâll receive a confirmation email. After the Project organizer has reviewed your application, youâll get another email notifying you of their decision.

After you sign up for an Event or apply to a Project, it will appear in your 'My Upcoming Deeds' section on your homepage as well as on your profile.
