How to use Deed's Slack App as an Admin

• Admins will need to approve the Deed App in their company Slack App directory. This will be a one-time approval. Admins can revoke this if needed.
  • *To do this, access this link: https://api.joindeed.com/slack/install/redirect*
• After Admins approve the app, the Deed app will appear for all employees in the Slack App directory. Employees won't need to authenticate the app because it has already been approved by Admin.
• After an Admin adds the Deed App to Slack, they can add the Deed App to any existing channel on Slack.
  • You can only connect the Deed App to one channel!

☝ Pro- tip: Our recommendation is to create a channel called (something like) "Social-Impact-Deed-App" where you'll add the Deed App. Set the channel to "read only" so that the channel can focus on updates from Deed's Slack App.

• • The Deed Slack App will automatically post the following updates in the channel:

    • New deeds (events, projects, fundraisers)

    • New campaigns

    • Updates to deeds and campaigns – they will be posted in a thread of the original post.

      • When a fundraiser or campaign is 'completed' – it posts in the main thread as well.

    • Deed activity – sign-ups to events, applications for projects, and donations to fundraisers will post in a thread of the original post.

      💥 Note: Fundraisers will keep the user's anonymity if they choose to donate anonymously.
