  • I can’t find my nonprofit on Deed. What do I do?

If you can’t find the organization you’re looking for, and your company supports this feature, you will find the option to Nominate a Nonprofit on the dropdown menu in the top righthand corner of your Homepage. Make sure that the nonprofit you are nominating for is a registered nonprofit and ensure that it meets the criteria for inclusion.

    • Nonprofits within the United States:

Must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt, and designated a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for a US organization or as an instrumentality of a federal, state or local government as provided by Section 170(c)(1) of the Code.

â˜đŸŒ Pro tip: if you're searching for a nonprofit in the United States, you can also type in the nonprofit's EIN #.

    • Nonprofits outside of the United States:

Deed’s donation partners do due diligence on international organization’s eligibility for donations, ensuring that they meet eligibility criteria and that your donation will be used for charitable purposes.

    Nominate a nonprofit here.

  • My nonprofit nomination was declined. Why?

    Unresponsive nonprofit

Our Nonprofit Success Team works diligently to onboard nonprofits that our Deed users want to support. Their team will call and email the nonprofit for 6 weeks. However, if the nonprofit is unresponsive after 6 weeks, our team will cease outreach.

If you have a personal contact or connection to a nonprofit, please share that information in the nominate a nonprofit form on the Deed platform! This can help expedite the onboarding process immensely.

    GlobalGiving

You may see “GlobalGiving” as the reason cited for your nomination being rejected. Deed is not a payment processor, meaning our platform does not disburse your donation to our nonprofit partners. We work with payment processing partners like PayPal and GlobalGiving to process donations. The payment processor that facilitates your donation varies per country. Here is a full list of countries that Deed disburses donations to, and the payment processor we use for nonprofits in that country.

Unlike our partners like PayPal, GlobalGiving is a nonprofit. This means there is a $750 fee associated with onboarding nonprofits through their platform. This helps GlobalGiving cover the bandwidth needed to onboard a nonprofit, as well as allows for GG to prioritize Deed requests above their standard queue.

Given the fee to onboard nonprofits, Deed can work with your company to onboard nonprofits in GlobalGiving countries upon special request from your company. Ideally if a nonprofit is responsive to onboarding, turnaround is 2 weeks.
