🗳️ Nominate a Nonprofit

If you can’t find the organization you’re looking for, and your company supports this feature, you will find the option to Nominate a Nonprofit on the dropdown menu in the top righthand corner of your Homepage.

Make sure that you are selecting the correct organization type when you are nominating an organization. Deed supports nominations for nonprofits, NCES schools in the US and government entities in the US. You will be asked to provide the organization name, website, country, email address and tax ID. You can find more information here: 

• Nonprofits within the United States:

Must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt, and designated a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for a US organization or as an instrumentality of a federal, state or local government as provided by Section 170(c)(1) of the Code.

☝ Pro tip: if you're searching for a nonprofit in the United States, you can also type in the nonprofit's EIN #.

• NCES Schools within the United States:

Must be a registered public school with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).   

• Government Entities within the United States: 

Must be a registered government entity within the United States that is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt.

• Nonprofits outside of the United States:

Deed’s donation partners do due diligence on international organization’s eligibility for donations, ensuring that they meet eligibility criteria and that your donation will be used for charitable purposes.

Once you nominate your nonprofit, you can track the nomination in your Profile.

Throughout the nomination process you will receive emails when the status of the nomination changes. You will receive emails if any of the following actions occur: 

• Organization declines the nomination
• Organization becomes available on Deed
• Organization has started the onboarding process with Deed
• Organization is not an entity type that Deed supports
• Organization was not submitted as the correct entity
• Organization receives outreach
• Organization is unresponsive after 30 days
